Toys For Tots With The USMC Is Starting Back Up — Help Us Get Toys
The United States Marine Corps started Toys for Tots in 1947. It started with a man and a woman in the Marine Reserves just knitting crocheting and sewing little stuffed animals. They took the handmade animals and toys around to little boys and girls whose families didn't have enough money to buy toys for Christmas.
Since then, Toys for Tots has grown into a massive event. This year seems to be even a little more important because of all the natural disasters that the world has had. Helping people in need is one of my goals every single day.
So when the Marine Corps ask me to help, I do not say no. Even though we're just hitting October, it's time to start gathering up those toys so we can help the Toys for Tots Foundation.
You can drop off toys at our offices at 4010 Summitview Ave., or check out the Toys for Tots Foundation Facebook for other drop-off locations.
Help us help them. Semper Fi! (And almost Merry Christmas!)
