Washington is a beautiful place, filled with some amazing people. However, we all have some weird traits that could be left in the past and we'd be a lot better off. Sure other people in other states do some of this, but we can be better.

So here's a list of the Top 5 things Washingtonians need to stop doing asap. If you feel like things on this list don't pertain to you or the way you live your life, then you're off to a great start.

5.) Road Raging

For some reason, we've seen an extreme uptick in road rage and road rage incidents in the PNW. People will chase other cars, throw things, and even brandish a weapon out of anger. It's extremely easy to get caught up in the moment especially when tempers are flaring, but you never know who may have a weapon or a reason to risk it all.

If you find somebody creating a dangerous or hazardous environment thru their driving it's best to just dial 911 and not engage. It could be your life you're risking.

4.) Speeding through a roundabout

Look roundabouts are weird to most Americans, we're used to stopping signs and stop lights, sure they're European and we came out on top of that war in 1776 so why should we have to learn how to drive like them? Well, it's actually a very smart way to direct traffic and keep it flowing, the problem is people will speed right through them and not let other cars get their chance to go.

This causes some people to speed through as well and cause a horrible accident. Yielding doesn't take long, when you get to a roundabout you yield to the traffic already there and move accordingly, this causes safer driving and a flow of traffic so we don't have huge blocks of cars not moving. Just be considerate to your fellow driver.

3.) Stop Ending Relationships over Politics

Look, you can't choose your family, you can't choose their views or ideas, so don't let that ruin your entire relationship. I understand some things can't be overlooked, some things are fundamentally wrong or right and they're your beliefs and I'm not asking you to compromise those. But do we really need to blacklist friends and family members over a small disagreement in politics?

So their guy won or they think something shouldn't be legal that is. But our founding fathers didn't agree on everything, they found trust and understanding through their similar beliefs and chose to respect one another for a greater purpose. We can do the same, find reasons to trust and love one another instead of looking for reasons to cut each other off. We can all do better at this, Republicans and Democrats.

2.) Fighting on Social Media

Okay, we get it, you don't agree with someone on social media, but do you really have to have a 100 comment reply on your friend's status arguing with someone you've never met? It's social media, take it easy, talk to your friends face to face, and agree and disagree in person, you can understand someone a lot better through the tone of their own voice than by reading it in how you think it's being said. It's a waste of time for everyone and more pointless drama.

So what if someone loves Miners Burgers more than Majors burgers, does that really justify half your day being spent arguing online?

1.) Bashing your own State

I don't wanna be that guy but if you hate Washington so much then move, if you're just complaining about it, it means you're not trying to help find the solution. We can all scream about the things we hate all day or we can get up and do something about it. Vote, protest and do anything besides just telling everyone how much you hate your home.
