Gas prices in Yakima are up 35.1 cents a gallon selling for an average of $4.92 per gallon on Monday according to GasBuddy's survey of 91 stations in the valley.

A press release from GasBuddy says the national cost of diesel has is down 1.3 cents in the last week and stands at $3.79 per gallon.

They say average gas prices are down 4.1 cents per gallon over the last week selling for an average of $4.54 a gallon.

Average gasoline prices in Yakima have risen 23.5 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $5.23 per gallon today, according to GasBuddy's survey of 91 stations in Yakima.

GasBuddy officials say gas prices in Yakima are 42.5 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and they're $1.60 per gallon higher than a year ago.

Summer prices are expected to rise even more in the coming months.
