Def Jam Recordings is boosting their senior executive team, as they've named Steven Victor as their new Executive Vice President and Head of A&R, effective immediately. The respected artist manager and COO of G.O.O.D. Music will be helping to lead the company’s creative initiatives and overseeing its talented A&R department.

Prior to his new position at Def Jam, Victor was the Senior Vice President of A&R for the Universal Music Group, and has been a manager heading William Victor Management with an extensive network of clients and connections in the music industry.

In a statement, Victor speaks on his enthusiasm to join the label and its lengthy legacy in the music community.

“I’ve worked within the Def Jam family for years and am honored to be part of the new leadership driving the future success of this iconic label." he states. "I’m genuinely excited to continue Russell and Rick’s legacy of discovering and developing new artists while creating new opportunities for our incredible talent. I’d like to thank Lucian and Paul for trusting me with this task and look forward to working with the A&R and management teams at Def Jam.”

Victor has had a long stint in the music industry, having started his work with artists such as The Clipse, Nelly Furtado and more, but one of his most recent fears came with breaking Desiigner's "Panda" record, which hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart last year.

In January, Eminem's longtime manager and head of Shady Records Paul Rosenberg will start as the new CEO of Def Jam.

Congratulations to Steven Victor on the new position and his transition into the Def Jam family.
