If you see a plume of smoke in the distance do you call 911? Officials with the Department of Natural Resources are urging you to not hesitate and call authorities. Communications Manager Janet Pearce says they would rather check out false alarms or the same incident multiple times than have a fire go unchecked. Pearce says they need the public's help to find and notify local and state officials of fires.
The largest fire in the state is the Williams Flats fire near Keller Washington is now at more than 44,000 acres with 45 percent containment.
Flash flooding in the area on Sunday washed out many roads in the area as firefighters continue to battle the flames started by a lightning strike last week.
