Night Tubing in Oregon
The coolest thing I have discovered is Cosmic Night Tubing. There is a spot at Mount Hood in Oregon that is perfect for it.
WHAT IS COSMIC NIGHT TUBING?
Night tubing is having fun sliding down a snow-covered path at night. It is lit up by thousands of LED lights and there is a live DJ! You know how some bowling centers have “cosmic bowling” nights? They turn down the lights in the building and everything is glow-in-the-dark with pretty neon lights and such? Imagine that, but in a snow tubing setting! So much winter fun!
WHERE CAN YOU GO NIGHT TUBING AND HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
There is a night tubing place that I am dying to take my 11-year-old daughter, Willow, and some friends with their kids. It's called Cosmic Tubing® and it's located at Mt. Hood in Oregon. Kids tickets range from $30 to $34 and adult tickets start at $35 to $39.
WHAT SPECIAL EQUIPMENT DO YOU NEED TO GO NIGHT TUBING?
You won’t need to buy any special snow tubing equipment because the tubes and sleds are typically provided by the snow tubing venue. You will, however, need to be dressed for the wintry weather with gloves, waterproof snow boots, coats, socks, hats, etc.
WHEN IS THE BEST TIME OF THE SEASON TO GO NIGHT TUBING?
If you go to the Cosmic Tubing® at Mt. Hood, then the best time is after December 16th, when they will officially be opened for the 2022 winter season. They are open on Fridays-Sundays for Cosmic Tubing and also on holidays, beginning with Thanksgiving Weekend (November 24-27). You have to book your time slot in advance and online.
