Should There Be an Age Limit For Trick-or-Treating? [POLL]
A Canadian town wants to regulate trick-or-treating. The city of Bathurst, New Brunswick, want to impose a law that would make it illegal to trick-or-treat if you're over the age of 16 and set up a curfew of 8 p.m. If you break one of these laws it could cost you $200.
Personally, I don't mind older trick-or-treaters as long as they are in costume. My own kids have trick-or-treated when they were in their teens, but gradually moved on to working in a haunted house during the month of October. If they are having fun with their friends and not causing trouble, then why not? kids grow up way too fast as it is. Let kids be kids for a little while longer.
An 8 p.m. curfew? Really? By the time normal people who hold 9 to 5 jobs get off work, get the kids dressed in their costume and head out the door it's already 6 -6:30ish if you're lucky. That only gives you an hour to an hour and half of prime trick-or-treating. We try to stop trick-or-treating after 9-9:30. If you wouldn't call people on the phone that late than you shouldn't be knocking on their door.
Should there be an age limit on trick-or-treaters? Take the poll.
