Should Friends With Benefits Get Gifts, Too?

I have a friend who is a single mom and has been "knocking boots" with a single dad she recently met in her apartment complex.

They are friends with benefits, so to speak.

She asked me if she should purchase a Christmas gift for him? She doesn't want to send the wrong message -- that she wants more from the relationship.

I honestly had no clue what to tell her since I've been married for more than 18 years and I've been with my husband for 26 years "time served."

So singles, I need your help on how to answer this question. If she does opt to get him a gift, should she maybe look for something funny or sexual? Is that weird? I don't know!!
