-Illegal Samuel Adams Beer

The average alcohol content in beer is around 5% but this new limited-edition Samuel Adams beer contains 28%. That sounds quite wild, to say the least.

When I moved to the Yakima Valley in 2002, I had only experienced two types of beers at that point: your regular schmegular Coors, Michelob, Miller Lite type of beers, and a Guinness stout. I was not a fan of the Guinness beer and I despised the taste of the others. Living in Washington state introduced me to many other types of beers, namely, IPAs, ambers, pale ales, porters, brown ales, and others!

This beer is not available in stores or restaurants yet, so don't get your knickers in a bunch if you can't find it anywhere in Washington. Can you believe this stuff is actually illegal to buy in our neighbor to the south, the state of Oregon! There are about 14 other states where the limited edition beer cannot be sold! That's because they are fuddy-duddies. I'm so glad we know how to kick it out here in Washington state.

Why is it illegal in those states, anyway? Because some states give beers with high alcohol content the stink eye. They don't like it, and they're not letting folks sell it. They are straight-up mean girls if you ask me.

The limited-edition Samuel Adams beer will not be available for purchase until the middle of October and that little bottle will run you about $240 plus taxes and one of your legs.
