Folks in the Round Rock area of Central Texas witnessed a group of strange lights in the sky Thursday night (September 1). Fox 7 Austin Assistant News Director, Chris Walker, filmed the lights and shared the video on Twitter.

The first video Walker shared simply shows the group of lights moving slowly in the sky. But it’s the second video when the lights suddenly make a hard right turn and quickly jet off into the distance that really got my attention.

Some are saying the lights are a group of drones that have been recently spotted over the Austin sky like the ones that were used as part of South by Southwest’s marketing campaign for the new Halo television series based on the Xbox game.

However, I have a hard time believing drones can move as fast as the lights do in the second video.

Others commenting on the video suggest the lights are high-tech laser pointers. That seems a lot more plausible to me.

But, the fact of the matter is that I want to believe damn it.

I’ve always been intrigued by UFOs. Sure, there are plenty of instances of UFO sightings turning out to be something as benign as a weather balloon. But that’s not always the case.

In May of 2021, the Pentagon admitted to the existence of unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), which is just a fancy way of saying UFOs. The admission followed the release of a US Navy video that shared flying objects that defied the laws of physics.

The consensus among the pilots who witnessed the lights is they were either top secret U.S. government projects, top secret surveillance aircraft developed by foreign governments, or something from out of this world.
