Want Something Fun to Do? Take a Quick Road Trip to Ellensburg

It's finally the weekend! Time to hit the road for a fun road trip. How about driving up to Ellensburg, WA? Where do you like to hang out in Ellensburg for the day? Last Sunday, my daughter Willow was at a sleepover, so I had the day to myself. I hopped in my car and drove to Ellensburg for a nice solo road trip. I called myself "Road Trippin' Reesha"! I kept wishing Willow was with me to enjoy the sightseeing, so this weekend I'm heading back to E-burg and taking her with me. I'm going to show her some fun things to do and see!

RESTAURANT TO TRY: THE RED PICKLE IN ELLENSBURG

The first place I'm going to take her to in Ellensburg is a restaurant called The Red Pickle (301 N Pine St, Ellensburg). It's a really cute and trendy little eaterie that serves what I consider "out-of-the-box" dishes like buffalo shrimp with pita bread and skinny little celery sticks, and a veggie burger with cheese (the veggie patty is made out of chickpeas). My meal at The Red Pickle was tasty. If you go there on a Sunday, just know they blast Christian-Rock music in the bar.

VISIT THE CENTRAL WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY CAMPUS

The next place I'll take Willow is to visit the campus of Central Washington University, home of the CWU...what are the tigers? Wild Cats? Bears? Oh my, I've got to brush up on my university mascots it seems! Okay, I just looked it up and I was right-they are the Wildcats! Wellington P. Wildcat, to be exact. THE JAPANESE GARDEN AT CENTRAL WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY

The reason I want to take my kiddo to Central Washington University is that last weekend on my solo road trip, I tried to check out the Japanese garden located on the CWU campus, but it was closed to the public. I was told by one of the students that it's sometimes roped off to the public, but if I play my cards right maybe we can both hop the fence and check it out without getting caught by security. Hahaha just kidding. (Maybe.)

VISIT DOWNTOWN ELLENSBURG

I will definitely take Willow to check out Downtown Ellensburg on our road trip so that she can see all the cool shops and restaurants located on the main street. I also think I saw a record store located on the main strip (Old Skool's Record Store, 308 N Main St, Ellensburg) so I'm going to check that out too.
