Pakistan's Human Rights Minister, Shireen Mazari, sent a letter to UNICEF's Executive Director, Henrietta Fore, which called for Priyanka Chopra's termination as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador.

In February, Chopra tweeted, "Jai Hind #IndianArmedForces," when translated means "hail India." During this time, Pakistan and India were on the brink of war.

The letter which asked for her termination expressed the severity of war and how her supporting such went "against the principles of peace and goodwill that Ms. Chopra is supposed to uphold."

UNICEF spokesperson, Stephane Dujarric, responded to the letter and stated that they will not be terminating Chopra's role as a Goodwill Ambassador. He explained that Chopra has the right to speak about issues in a personal capacity.

"I can tell you that, for any Goodwill Ambassador, whether it's Ms. Chopra or anyone else, we expect them to adhere to impartial positions when they speak on behalf of UNICEF or any other organization," Dujarric stated.  "When they speak in their personal capacity, they retain the right to speak about issues of interests or concern to them.  Their personal views, however, do not reflect those of the agency with which they may be affiliated with."

In August, a UN Ambassador/activist confronted Chopra about her support of war during a Q&A panel at a beauty convention. Chopra corrected her and said she was instead being patriotic.
