Looking Back at the Old Yakima Mall Stores That Bring Back Great Memories
Bringing back memories of first jobs, back-to-school-shopping, and other great times at the mall: that's what I'm talking about when I say, "Tell me some of the stores you miss from the old Yakima Mall."
I asked my Facebook friends who grew up in Yakima about the stores they miss from the old Yakima Mall.
What a fun trip down memory lane for my friends! Some of them reminsced about the places in the old Yakima Mall where they had their first jobs, hung out after school and on the weekends with their friends.
MY MEMORIES OF THE OLD YAKIMA MALL
I moved to Yakima in 2002, right around the time when the Yakima mall was in the process of closing down. I recall loving to eat at Russillo's Italian restaurant because they served these GIGANTIC slices of some of the best pizza I've ever had. I also loved go shopping at the going out of business sales at The Bon Marché, or The Bon, as the locals affectionately called it. The Bon Marché even had an extremely catchy commercial jingle that sometimes I randomly sing whilst I'm driving in my car! (Check out the old Bon Marché TV commercial from the 90s below!)
Fun Fact: The Bon Marché was the world's first luxury department store, founded in 1852 in Paris, France. In the 2000s, The Bon was bought out by MACY'S!
