New York Makes it Illegal to Buy Canned Whipped Cream. Is Washington Next?
Imagine being a kid in middle school or high school. Maybe even elementary school. You're shopping for your parents to grab a few things for a party. Maybe some cake mixes, chocolate sauce, sprinkles, canned whipped cream, ice cream and more. You get up to the checkstand and are confused when the cashier asks to see your ID. What do you do? What did you do? Are they banning too much sugar? No, as it turns out if you're in New York there is a ban on buying that whipped cream unless you're 21 or over.
NBC News said this law went into effect last November but many haven't noticed until just recently. You can thank the Nitrous Oxide found in these canisters and that kids found by inhaling that causes a quick high. Super dangerous.
I've, personally, never understood the idea of doing whippets as I don't like stuff messing with my brain or oxygen intake but, alas, here we are. Now carding people for canned whipped cream.
Stuff like Cool Whip, that's perfectly fine.
The stuff that sprays out of a nozzle, gonna need to see some ID for that extra creamy Reddi-Wip.
Is Washington the next in line for this ridiculous law? Only time will tell. It's not likely but we've seen weirder stuff happen so who knows. If it does, just promise everyone you won't go gas huffing or something equaly as stupid.
