A breakup letter to Madonna written by Tupac Shakur in 1995 can officially be auctioned off after the pop star lost her lawsuit attempting to reclaim the handwritten letter.

According to an April 23 report from the New York Daily News, a Manhattan Supreme Court Judge ruled on Monday that Madonna's personal items can be sold at auction. The singer had sued her former friend Darlene Lutz and an online auction house called Gotta Have It! last July in an attempt to prevent them from profiting off of her personal items like satin underwear, letters, cassette tapes, pictures and more.

Judge Gerald Lebovitz ruled that under a 2004 agreement Madonna made with Lutz, the singer forfeited her rights to the items. "[Madonna] knew that throughout her relationship with Lutz, Lutz was in possession of various pieces of [Madonna's] personal property," the judge stated in his decision.

The handwritten letter from Pac to Madonna was penned while the rapper was in jail and features him detailing why he can no longer be in a romantic relationship with the singer because of her race.

"Can u understand that? For you to be seen with a Black man wouldn't in any way jeopardize your career. If anything it would make you seem that much more open & exciting," he wrote in the letter. "But for me at least in my previous perception I felt due to my 'image' I would be letting down half of the people who made me what I thought I was. I never meant to hurt you."

When the letter first hit the auction market last year, it was going for $100,000. Fans will now be able to place their bids again starting in July when the letter and the rest of the items go back on sale.
