Spread the Word: Lavender Harvest Days Festival is Back for 2021
I have been to a couple of the Lavender Harvest Days. Both times that I went, it was like falling in love with a crush for the very first time because you arrive not knowing what to expect and leave feeling light, breezy, and smiley. The heavenly scent of lavender just surrounds you and pushes your sense of smell into overdrive.
There's also a feast for the eyes too, if you are able. You don't have to look far to see rows upon rows of fresh lavender waiting to be harvested. The trails of purple flowers and long, slender lime green leaves cover the acres of land where the event is held in Selah, Washington.
You can expect to see quite a few vendors set up for customers to buy some of their wares, and we're talking anything from lavender soaps, lavender essential oils, and infused lotions, stand-alone planters, and bushels of ripened lavender to purchase and take home. If this year's Lavender Harvest Days will be anything like the previous ones, there will also be vendors selling artwork, wooden pieces, and jewelry.
Watch out for bees, although to be honest, they will pretty much be leaving you alone. They, too, are excited about the fresh lavender harvest. The Facebook page for the event promises live demonstrations for the lavender distilling process, a little bit of education for the homies. You can bring the little homies, too, because there will be a lavender Labyrinth they can walk thru as well as some children's activities on site.
