June 2019 New Music Releases
Can't find the dough for the latest concert ticket? Check out this list of June 2019 new music releases for a string of cool upcoming live albums. There are a couple of major new recordings on the way, too.
Bruce Springsteen's first studio project in five years was inspired in part by pop records that emerged from Southern California in the late '60s and early '70s. The second album by the all-star Hollywood Vampires – which already includes Alice Cooper, Joe Perry and Johnny Depp – also features a guest turn by Jeff Beck.
Bob Dylan will issue a new 14-disc, 148-track box set chronicling his 1975 Rolling Thunder Revue dates, five days before a Martin Scorcese-directed documentary about the tour arrives on Netflix. Neil Young's latest live album captures highlights from a Feb. 3, 1973, performance with the Stray Gators at the University of Alabama. The Rolling Stones will release an expanded set devoted to their 1968 Rock and Roll Circus special, and then another live album focusing on a 1998 show in support of their then-new album Bridges to Babylon.
Roger Daltrey and the Doobie Brothers are also returning to familiar ground. The Who's Tommy Orchestral features highlights from a 2018 tour during which Daltrey collaborated with local orchestras on his band's classic rock opera. Live From the Beacon Theatre finds the Doobies presenting 1972's Toulouse Street and its follow-up The Captain and Me in their entirety.
