The Weirdest Soup Recipe Name I've Ever Heard of: Swamp Soup
I wasn't sure what Swamp Soup is, so I had to go look it up. Have you heard of it? As you might figure out from the name of it, the recipe originated in the bayous of Louisiana and the gulf shores Alabama. It doesn't, however, have any swamp meat in it, like alligators and other critters that live in swamps. (Well, that's a bummer, ha!)
This soup with the strange name does, however, have delicious Cajun-inspired seasonings in it plus meats like smoked sausage, smoked ham hocks, and/or smoked turkey legs. The highlight is adding fresh local vegetables and greens to it (think collard, mustard, kale).
Thanks for reading, and I hope you have a SOUP-ER day!
