Washington is no stranger to the macabre. From UFO sightings to Bigfoot to conspiracy theories, and so much more, Washington state is a hot spot for the paranormal.

There's a list of some of the most haunted places in all of Washington State and one on the list is only a drive away from Yakima.

If you find your way to Spokane you can visit the Campbell House in the Peaceful Valley area on 1st Avenue by the Spokane River.

This once was a residential home but is now part of the Northwest Museum of Arts & Culture with house tours Tuesday through Sunday.

How could this cozy, turn-of-the-century house be that haunted? I mean, how haunted is this place to make it on the list?

Well, in this 1898 house, there was some... stuff that happened.

Well, it all started with the children.

Why does it always start with the children?

There were stories about how three of the Campbell kids were murdered in the early 1900's by an intruder with a 4th child being kidnapped, never to be seen again.

The problem with this story, however, is that the Campbells only had one child who lived a full life.

...interesting.

I'm looking forward to visiting the house myself someday as I find myself in Spokane often. Should be fun! When I do, I'll do a follow-up article to see if I see any ghosts or hear anything between the walls.

According to Only In Washington, it's definitely one of the creepiest places in Washington.
