You know those social media posts that say things like, “Things We Need to Leave Behind in 2023”? Well, I’ve come up with my own list for 2024. I almost feel like a ranting, raving lunatic sharing my list with you, because after I looked it over I thought to myself, “Dang, lady, why are you so ANGRY?”

It’s not that I’m angry, it’s more like I’m genuinely annoyed.

The older I get, people get on my nerves. Now I completely understand why George Costanza’s dad was always yelling. No wonder I’ve always felt a special pull to his made up holiday, Festivus and its Airing of Grievances. So forgive me that I am channeling my inner grouchy old man.

Usually in lists like these, the creator will mention something about trendy words they are sick of hearing about or common mistakes in proper public social etiquette. My list will be more comprehensive than that. I've got a lot of problems with you people (in Washington state), and now you're going to hear about it.

I guarantee there will be at least one thing on my list that you will agree with, too. These are the things I hope that we really leave behind in the bowel movements of 2023!

I am calling these ten gripes cringey because they just are. Some of them are embarrassing, some are just common decency. I really hope you pay attention to my list item #9 because sometimes it gets lonely out in these streets!
