It just so happens that my birthday lands on August 29th. I share it with celebrities like Isabel Sanford, who played Weezie on The Jeffersons, plus Grace Kelly, Liam Payne from One Direction, the chick from Glee, and Michael Jackson.

Here are six events going on that you might love.

 

#1: Cars, Chrome, and Coffee in Yakima

Start off the morning with fun, looking at cars, drinking coffee, and making new friends. 7 to 9 a.m. in the parking lot of Yakima Coffee Company. 3801 Tieton Drive in Yakima.

#3: Annual Sidewalk Sale in West Valley

Several vendors in the Westpark Shopping Plaza will be having a special sale on the sidewalk. Vendors include Gretchen, The Quilter's Cafe, Ballesteri's Cafe, Simply Crafted Marketplace, Yakima's Ship Shop, Bubbles & Co., denim + cloth, Barre 3, Verdant, and Touch of Sassy Boutique. Open during regular store hours. 4001 Summitview Ave in Yakima.

The Sport Haus and Parry Jewelers (located literally across the street) will also be having sidewalk sales, too!

#3: 5k Beer Run in near Moxee

Run, walk, or jog, and your ticket entry includes a drink token, bib, swag, and raffle entry. You'll be running through the fields! Registration opens at 11:30 a.m. The run starts at 12 p.m. 1801 Birchfield Road in Yakima.

#4: Adult Swim Pool Party in Yakima

1 to 5 p.m. at Red Lion Pool in Downtown Yakima. Free parking and open only to guests ages 21+. Music by DJ Freddy Moore. General and VIP tickets are available while they last. 607 East Yakima Ave.

#5: 90s DJ Night in Wapato

Freehand Cellars in Wapato is bringing some Saturday end-of-the-summer fun from 6 to 10 p.m. Catering by Omar's Buen Taco. Music by DJ Garin Moore. Tickets are on sale while they last. 451 Windy Point Drive in Wapato.

#6: Yakima Symphony Orchestra in Yakima

Enjoy a special outdoor performance for this Summer Concert Series. You'll be listening to Late Style & The Threshold of Silence at Narratif Winery. Get tickets before they're gone. Bring your own lawn chair or blanket and give them your name at the door for entry. 2880 Lee Road in Prosser.
