Yakima Valley Quilters Guild invites you to a special trunk show where you'll see fabulous quilts and wool embroidery from Pacific Northwest quilter extraordinaire Lisa Mortell. Here are the details.

Let's Get All the Disclaimers Out of the Way First

Disclaimer: I am a member of the Yakima Valley Quilters' Guild. They nabbed me when I walked into the Modern Living Building at the Fair one year and asked me if I wanted to join.

"Sure,I 'll join your quilt guild!" I replied, despite not knowing a lick of how to stick a thread through a sewing needle, let alone know how to quilt.

Fast forward a few years later and now I've been learned how to quilt and joined a group that hand-sews quilts and other items that get donated to local nonprofits including Rod's House, YWCA Women's Shelter, Freedom Kits, Quilts of Valor, and Voices for Children foster kids.

Another disclaimer: I was voted in as this year's Guild's secretary. This role gives me an inside peek into the inner workings of the life of a quilter. I also get to hear about special events that are open to the public, like the upcoming Lisa Mortell Trunk Show.
