Pop-Up Restaurant Event in February in Yakima
WORD ON THE STREET...A POP-UP FOODIE EVENT IN YAKIMA
If you have a Facebook account, it is likely you have seen an advertisement for various traveling mobile food trucks coming to the Yakima Valley and other cities across Washington state.
We recently noticed that Piroshky Piroshky bakery has been getting the word out that they are coming back to Yakima for a special pre-order only pickup event. The bakery is known for it's Pike Place Market stand that sells homemade piroshky.
WHAT IS A 'PIROSHKY' ANYWAY?
Piroshky is a Russian and Eastern European baked treat. They often host local events bringing their yummy pastries and baked goods to cities across the country.
"The most simple answer is that they are hand held pies, and their fillings are as diverse and differing as the cultures and people who make and serve them." - Piroshky Piroshky Bakery
WHAT KIND OF PIROSHKY FOOD ITEMS ARE COMING TO YAKIMA?
All sorts of bakery items can be ordered for pickup in Yakima, from meat and fish-filled pies to desserts. One interesting item we noted from Piroshky Piroshky is the Smoked Salmon Pâté, notable because smoked salmon is a staple of Pacific Northwestern cuisine.
