Bird Flu Aftermath: What Eggs Cost in 5 Yakima Grocery Stores Right Now
If you haven't been keeping up with the latest news, the cost of eggs has taken a sharp upward turn recently.
Bird flu is to blame for the latest round of sky-high egg prices. If you are watching your pennies and finding it hard to afford the price of eggs, there are a few substitute options you can use. The other option is to just suck it up and pay for those eggs, no matter the cost.
I researched egg prices at several different grocery stores (as of Friday, January 10th) so that I could estimate how much I'll be spending on them when I do some grocery shopping this weekend.
If you live in Sunnyside and don't feel like getting out in the cold weather to go shopping for eggs at Fiesta Foods, you can order through Instacart. A carton of 12 Oakdell Egg Farms Eggs, Organic, Brown, Large, Cage Free is currently $6.59.
For the Yakima shoppers, here's what you can expect on those eggs:
GROCERY OUTLET: CAGE-FREE EGGS
$6.89
WRAY'S IGA:Eggland's Best Cage Free Eggs Brown Grade A Large 12 Pack
$4.29
SAFEWAY: Lucerne Farms Eggs Large Cage Free - 12 Count
