
The Joy of Crochet and Knitting Is Growing in Popularity in the Yakima Valley
Crochet and Knitting are in popular demand in the Yakima Valley. Do you know how to crochet or knit? If you want to learn how, I'm starting to see more pop-up classes in the area. There's even group gatherings that combine hanging out at a pub or winery with the love of crochet.

Modern Ways to Learn How to Crochet
Before there was the internet, we kids had to do things like learn how to crochet and knit from our parents and grandparents. I was lucky to have been taught how to crochet by my mom when I was kid; unfortunately, I forgot how to do it.
Thankfully, if you want to learn how to crochet or knit these days, you have so many easy options.

Sarah of Big Bee Yarn Co is hosting a $50 beginner's knitting class at Farm Girl Pickings on January 24th, from 1 to 3 p.m.

Valley Brewing Co. is putting on a crochet and craft brews event every 3rd Wednesday of the month from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. You can meet people who will teach you some crochet tutorials and wax poetic about all things crochet. I would love to attend this because it's right up my alley, but I've got the Yakima Valley Quilters'Guild meeting on those nights, dang it!

CROCHET CLASS
Wit Cellars in Prosser is having a class to teach crochet granny squares. It's on January 31st from 1 to 3 p.m., and the class is $60 per ticket. They will provide the yarn and teach you how to make at least 4 granny squares.

The next time you go to a bazaar or arts festival, I guarantee you will see at least one vendor booth with some crochet projects. There might even be a young child sitting behind the booth table crocheting as you walk by!
