We're at the time of the year when people love asking where the allegedly haunted places are in town. I'm here to tell you a few of them. I actually work at one of these spots, too!

Old Regional Hospital

100 S 9th Ave

The old Regional/Astria Hospital is closed as of the time of this writing, but some residents say they believe the building is still haunted. From what I've observed, the only thing haunting about it is the overgrown grass and random unhoused people who like to sleep there at night under the protection of the old emergency entrance.
Northtown Coffee House/Old Grant's Pub

Call me crazy if you want to, but one time I was washing my hands in the Women's bathroom back when Northtown Coffee House first opened and felt like someone or some "thing" was staring me down. It gave me the creeps, and it took me over a decade before I got the nerve to go back into that bathroom again!

Capitol Theatre: Shorty's Favorite Spot to Haunt

19 S 3rd St

The urban legend of an old stagehand named Shorty still lives on inside the building. They've even created special tours of the building that give you "his" point of view, from backstage access to the secret passageways that only stagehands get access to during normal business hours.

Naches Avenue

Naches Avenue in Downtown Yakima

I've heard rumors that there's a creepy scary lady or entity that locals have nicknamed "Hog Devil". She/It likes to haunt Naches Avenue downtown especially after midnight. I'm not sure if this entity crosses the street to haunt both sides of Naches Ave or not, but at that time of night, I'm not sticking around long enough to find out!

Townsquare Media Yakima Building

4010 Summitview Ave

I've worked here for nearly 25 years and haven't felt one haunting moment until I walked through the building with two paranormal investigators. We went downstairs into the Boiler Room--a room I have never stepped a foot inside from Day 1. I faced my fears and thankfully didn't run into any ghostly spirits, but we did get some thick, creepy, haunted vibes in the 1280 NewsTalk KIT studio!
