Yakima Museum Launches Holiday Lights Extravaganza
The Yakima Valley Museum is ushering in the Christmas season with its Annual Holiday Lights Extravaganza from now until December 21. The museum's halls are transformed into a winter wonderland, featuring beautifully decorated trees and stunning holiday displays crafted by local nonprofit organizations.
YOU CAN VOTE FOR YOUR FAVORITE TREE
Visitors are encouraged to stroll through the museum, enjoying festive decorations while casting their votes for their favorite nonprofit display. At the end of the event, the museum will donate the value of the script collected back to each participating organization.
The Holiday Lights Extravaganza is open for guests Tuesday through Saturday, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Admission is priced at $8 for adults and $5 for children aged 5 to 12, while children under five can enter for free. Tickets and script for voting can be conveniently purchased at the admission desk.
AFTER THE MUSEUM CHECK OUT THE LIGHTS AT STATE FAIR PARK
In addition to the museum's offerings, the community can look forward to the return of the Holiday Drive-Thru Light Fest, running from December 12 to 20 at Yakima's State Fair Park. Presented by Gesa Credit Union, the 5th Annual Holiday Light Fest promises to delight attendees with over 30 miles of spectacular holiday-themed displays. This year's highlights include a whimsical Candyland scene featuring a gingerbread house and a North Pole exhibit complete with Santa’s mailbox.
YOU'VE MADE THE LIGHTS PART OF YOUR HOLIDAY TRADITION
Kathy Kramer, CEO of the Yakima Valley Museum, expressed her excitement for the upcoming festivities, saying, “We are thrilled that the community has made the Holiday Light Fest part of their annual holiday family tradition.” She added that this season, guests can take advantage of the newly introduced "HLF Fast Pass," which allows for priority entry and access to an exclusive entrance for a nominal fee.
HOW ABOUT A FAST PASS?
The gates for the Holiday Drive-Thru Light Fest open at 4:30 PM, with drive-thru hours running from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM each evening. General admission for vehicles is set at $15 for cars, trucks, and SUVs, while limousines, buses, and RVs are charged $30. Fast Passes are also available for those wishing to expedite their entry into the event.
