When the Yakima City Council meets Tuesday the council will be talking about two top agenda items.

THE COUNCIL SAYS IT'LL BE AT LEAST 4 MONTHS BEFORE A NEW MANAGER WILL BE HIRED

A new Yakima City Manager and parking in downtown Yakima are on the agenda. The council continues a search for a new city manager after hiring former assistant City Manager Dave Zabell to fill the job in the interim. As the search continues for a new manager the council is putting together a job description for the city manager and council members will be talking about that Tuesday.

WILL THE COUNCIL EVER FIND A WORKABLE POLICY FOR PARKING?

Parking is also on the agenda.
The council held a study session at the former Bank of America building earlier this month where council member Matt Brown told those at the meeting the council is determined to come up with solutions. The council is expected to approve a resolution Tuesday to continue the hold on parking enforcement in the downtown city lots until the council comes up with a new policy for downtown parking.

A PLAN WAS IN PLACE BUT IT'S ON HOLD

Brown and other council members did approve a plan last summer which increased the cost of monthly parking in city owned lots from $40 to a monthly cost of $50. That upset many people who work downtown saying the cost was too high.
The council meets at 5:30 pm at Yakima City Hall.
