I didn't know some of these styles had actual names, but HAIR we are!

I'm old enough to remember when man buns, grunge hairstyles, long braided looks, and emo haircuts were all the rage in the Pacific Northwest.

Times have changed over these past years and now new bangs have become popular as well as close shaves and colored.

California, Oregon, and Washington residents share a similar laidback, neo-rustic edge to our choices in fashion, leisure, and of course, our hair. It seems the 70s have become de rigeur for its influences in the most popular hairstyles searched on Google in the past year or so.

Bellbottoms, calico dresses, and shaggy coifs are in style now. I first noticed this when I saw flared pants being sold in my local Target store. I shuddered thinking about the return of these fashion looks, being retraumatized from my childhood. I hated them then, and I hate them now. So much for moving ahead to the modern future!

Well, I, for one, refuse to welcome back the days of Little House on the Prairie dresses, huge ringlets, and bowl-cut hairdos.

Let's see what we've been making "hip" these days. These are the most popular haircuts and the most searched-for tresses in masculine and feminine hairstyles in Washington state, Oregon, and California.
