The Most Dangerous Road in Vancouver WA? What? Really?
Driving is dangerous and if you do it everyday you know you need to pay attention to stay alive. Authorities say with soo many people driving distracted these days it's vitally important to stay alert.
YOU NEED TO PAY ATTENTION NO MATTER WHERE YOU DRIVE IN THE STATE
Washington State is beautiful with lots of places to drive and enjoy beautiful areas. But the state is also home to some dangerous roads so you need to keep your wits about you when cruising around the Evergreen state. Winding mountain roads and major state highways keep authorities busy trying to manage traffic and prevent tragedy.
YOU MAY BE SURPRISED WHAT ROAD IS THE MOST DANGEROUS
You may disagree because of the roads you drive but officials at geotab.com have found Interstate 5 to be the most deadly roads in all of Washington state. The road runs through many large cities in the state including Vancouver Washington. Interstate 5 runs from Canada to Oregon and with multiple lanes it contains the most traffic than any other road in the state.
NO WONDER THAT'S A LOT OF DRIVERS ON THE ROAD EVERYDAY
Geotab officials say some 200,000 vehicles use I-5 every day meaning 73 million people travel the road every year. All that traffic means there's the potential for deadly crashes. 300 deaths have been reported on I-5 over the last 10 years, many happening in Vancouver Washington.
SLOW DOWN AND YOU'LL STAY ALIVE
Authorities say the biggest problem is speed. The Washington State Patrol says a majority of crashes that result in fatalities are the result of drivers speeding. Want to save your life and not be in a crash? Troopers say slow down, put the phone down and pay attention.
