Yakima Police have arrested a 19-year-old man in connection with the February 22 shooting at a Yakima home that left one teen dead and two others injured.

THE ARREST HAPPANED ON THURSDAY

According to a court affidavit from the Yakima County Prosecutor's Office the 19-year-old suspect was arrested Thursday on a charge of First-Degree-Rendering Criminal Assistance. Officers are still searching for the shooter.

A SHOOTING THAT WAS CONNECTED TO LOCAL GANGS

The affidavit says the shooting happened during a party at a home in the 400 block of North 5th Avenue. Police say the shooting happened during an argument between a group of people from Yakima and a group from the lower valley that included 16-year-old Jesus Rangel Magallon who died at the scene from multiple gunshot wounds. The court affidavit says the shooting happened during an argument in which they were "discussing gang affiliation and bragging about it."

THE SUSPECT WAS ARRESTED ON A CHARGE OF RENDERING CRIMINAL ASSISTANCE

Two others, a 16-year-old male and 17-year-old female who were also shot were taken to Multicare Yakima Memorial but then transferred to the Seattle area for further treatment. Police say the 19-year-old suspect admitted to driving his friends, which police say included the shooter to the Yakima party. He also told police he was present inside the home at the time of the shooting. During an interview the court papers say the 19-year-old suspect gave police the name of the shooter and picked out the shooter from a photo montage.

Detectives continue to piece together what happened but they're hoping for help from the public.
