They conducted a survey of over 2,000 Americans, asking a variety of questions about how often they lose things and for how long they spend searching for them.

Here’s what they found:

Washington ranked 36 out of 44 for losing items.

Residents in Washington lose an average of 57 items per month. Compare this to the average American who loses something about 5 times per month.

Washington citizens spend an average of 12 hours per month looking for lost items. For comparison, the average American spends slightly less than 1.5 hours per month searching for lost items.

WE ALL WASTE A LOT OF TIME LOOKING FOR LOST ITEMS

Washington residents spend over 63.77 hours per year searching for lost items. The average American spends over 16 hours a year searching for lost items.
