I came across a national survey online that said just over one-third of people say back-to-school shopping is more stressful than holiday shopping. The survey also said that 23% say back-to-school shopping "has at least somewhat damaged their relationship with their child."

I feel like these two stats kind of go hand in hand. The situation I imagine here would be if the child wants some brand-new $200-plus shoes because "all my friends are getting them" and the kid is RUTHLESS about wanting them. The parent doesn't want to fork over the money, thus causing tension in the relationship. Could this be the cause of the back-to-school stress?

We asked that question on Facebook to our fabulous listeners in Yakima, and as of the posting of this blog, it lines up with the national survey results.
