Hundreds of people lined Yakima Avenue for the 19th annual Christmas Parade Sunday in downtown Yakima. The parade started at 6:00 p.m. at 6th Avenue and Yakima Avenue and ended at the Millennium Plaza.

The parade included more than 25 different vehicles all covered with colorful lights including the large Coca-Cola truck and entries from other local businesses including KIT Radio. The parade Grand Marshal was Verlynn Best the President of the Greater Yakima Chamber of Commerce. The star of the parade however was Santa Claus who helped turn on the lights on the community Christmas tree in the Millennium Plaza after the parade.

The Yakima parade followed a string of other lighted parades in the valley that started last week.
