It is hard for me to believe that people segregate. I will always hate it. My aunt is Korean and Japanese. My uncle is black and I also have nieces and nephews that are. Who cares? I am also disappointed that people even have to point out what color someone is. Who cares? When you have skills like Hattie McDaniel, you think you would be seen as someone with some serious skills. Not the 'First Black Woman' with a Oscar. But, that is how it was set up. She deserved it. She is my hero. Her roll in Gone With The Wind made the film. To be honest, if she wasn't  in it, the film would be a total disaster. Hattie McDaniel was born June 10th, 1895. Not only did she make Gone With The Wind good, she was also the first person to move forward on the housing in Los Angeles. Hattie putting her foot down on the house she wanted to buy is what started the 'Fair Housing Movement' in the Untied States.

Happy Birthday Hattie! You are a true inspiration!
