Covid-19 has closed many small businesses in the Yakima Valley but area growers are still producing a bounty of fruit and vegetable crops. Seth Krueger is the owner of Krueger Pepper Gardens in Wapato who says the pandemic has impacted his wholesale business because many restaurants are still closed around the state. But Krueger says he's seen strong local sales with many people looking for fresh food from the source. Krueger Pepper Gardens opened for the late summer season on August 2. The farm website says the farm offers a variety of certified organic fruits and vegetables including over 100 varieties of hot and sweet peppers (Ghost pepper and other specialty extra hots), 15+ varieties of tomatoes (including heirloom) , 10+  varieties of melons/watermelon, 10+ varieties of winter squash, eggplant, green beans, juice grapes (Concord and Early Campbell), onions, garlic and free range, grass fed whole beef.
The Krueger family has been growing in Central Washington since 1937.
The farm is open Sunday-Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The farm is located at 462 Knight Ln. Wapato.
