Get Healthy, Get Smart, Have Fun ! Washington Fruit Community Center Might Have a Program For You
The facility located at 602 North 4th Street used to be known as the Yakima Police Athletic League or Y-PAL center. Neighborhood kids learned to box, cook, do their homework, and more.
The center had its share of hiccups and ultimately the YPD officially pulled out but that ultimately paved the way for Washington Fruit to get involved. The place was renamed the Washington Fruit Community Center and it continues to serve the neighborhood where many of the families have members who work for Washington Fruit.
Building A Solid Center
The center has managed to stay out of the headlines too but there are some positive activities going on that the public should know about. Congrats to the leadership at Washington Fruit for an investment to help support the quality of life for families and kids in the area.
The center is known first as a place for kids with youth programs, such as Beyond the Bell, but the Washington Fruit Community Center (WFCC) is planning activities for adults and senior citizens too.
