A firefighter working along I-82 in the lower valley on Sunday was struck by a vehicle. The vehicle then fled the area. Washington State Patrol troopers are now searching for the 2012 Nissan Versa with Oregon plates. The vehicle has damage to the left side of the front bumper.
The crash was reported at about 6:22 a.m. near Granger. The fire truck was parked in the left lane of I-82 helping with a vehicle crash when the suspect vehicle lost control and crashed into the firefighter and the fire truck. The firefighter, identified as 62-year-old Terry Carter of Granger. He's being treated at a Yakima hospital.
