Everyone Accounted for in Union Gap Fire

Union Gap Police say everyone has been accounted for after a fire Sunday at a home in Union Gap in which two bodies were found after the flames were doused. Union Gap Police Chief Greg Cobb says investigators are back at the scene searching for answers and clues to the cause of the suspicious blaze reported at 2:50 a.m. Sunday in the 2200 block of South Fifth Avenue. Cobb says one person survived the fire and two others were found dead in the home. He says three others that were reported missing by authorities have been located. Cobb says they have identified the bodies but that information hasn't yet been released. Currently the Yakima County Coroner Jim Curtice is handling that part of the investigation. He's contacting family members before any identities are released to local media.

Cobb says it's been a tough investigation because of the amount of damage caused by the fire that destroyed the home. Investigators say they're doing everything they can to find answers while trying to avoid being injured by debris and other material that burned in the home. Each day is big job trying to gather information and gather evidence that was impacted by the fire. Cobb says they're still searching the home for clues and haven't yet completed the investigation as to how the fire was started but it's still termed suspicious.

Union Gap Police say they'll release more information as it becomes available including the names of the victims and the cause of the fire reported on Sunday morning.
