It's back!

Downtown Summer Nights returns to downtown's Front Street, and we couldn't be more excited! This event is like Yakima's official ringing in of Summer!

I have seen this concert grow from small crowds on N 4th Street a few years ago, blooming into the hustling and bustling mass of people who flock down every Thursday night to its new location on Front Street, just off Yakima Ave. If you've never been, tonight is the night to go!

The beer garden opens at 5:30 for the 21+ crowd, plus there will be food vendors and live music! See the full lineup here.

For tonight's opening festivities, we get to enjoy hearing Blake Noble, an Australian who has made Yakima his new home. He is locally famous for playing the Digeridoo. (Disclaimer: I have been known to call it a 'digeri-don't' because I'm not a fan of the instrument, but he plays the guitar as well. I do enjoy seeing Blake get down with the funky stuff up there on stage.)

Come on down tonight and enjoy an evening on the town. Make sure you bring your lawn chair, an umbrella, sunscreen and a bottle of water (although there will be some available for sale on site; they usually cost a dollar or two).
