YWCA Marks Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October [VIDEO]
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and whether we hear about it or not, domestic violence happens too often in our community.
It's not just physical. This can also be emotional. And it does not affect just the couple involved, the whole family suffers. Speaking from experience, I've witnessed domestic violence within my own family from childhood to growing up. To this day I still have memories that will stay with me for a long time.
Across the Yakima Valley, the Yakama Nation and beyond the valley, in some way, someone is going through something relating to domestic violence.
Most people they have a way out and and someone to talk to. But in some situations, that is not the case. Sometimes it ends in death.
