Some people have the mitigated gall trying to come up with COVID-19 scams to snatch up all your hard-earned stuff when you least expect it.
They will do it on a plane.
They will do it on a train.
They will do it in the snow.
But you don't hear me doe!
They will do it for the money.
They will do it 'cause they're phony!
Scammers have no class and are full of sass. The latest COVID scam as seen on King 5 News asks you to pay a fee when you get a coronavirus vaccine. The problem is that in Washington state, there is no charge for these shots. Your insurance co-pays are waived and if you don't have any medical insurance, you don't have to pay out of pocket either. These scammers are getting really BOLD with it!
I don't know about you but I am impatiently waiting to qualify to get my coronavirus shot. I am happy for those who have already been able to get one, but I am sad I will have to wait until who knows when before I am allowed to get mine. Some people are saying, "Screw that, I'm not waiting!" and have found covert ways to get in line for a vaccine. These two ladies pretended to be little old ladies so they could get a vaccine and this couple right here flew the coup and crossed the border into Canada!
Please note: This covid vaccine fee scam does not apply when getting coronavirus tests because some companies are actually allowed to charge for these, especially if they are privately owned, K5 News reports.
The Insurance Commissioner's office offers a website you can go to report anyone charging you for a COVID-19 vaccine. AARP explains that doctors and medical providers are getting reimbursed, which is how we are able to get the shots for free. Thieves like to prey on unsuspecting patients so be wary of blokes and blokettes trying to sneak in a surcharge! Also, watch out for people other COVID scams. Don't let that next victim be YOU!
