Many private contractors are either back to work Today or they will be this week after the governor is allowing home construction to restart with safety measures in place. Jake Mayson, Director of Governmental Affairs for the Central Washington Home Builders Association says they held a webinar on Saturday for builders who want to get back to business as soon as possible. Mayson says the webinar explained the safety plan the state wants contractors to develop and post at work sites before work begins. He says some contractors were able to get back to work over the weekend and others are developing and posting plans this week to start work on existing construction.

No new construction is able yet to begin. The safety plan includes training for workers and a site-specific supervisor to make sure the safety measures are being followed.
More than two dozen worksites in the city of Yakima could be back up and running by the end of the week.
