See the Hit Broadway Musical ‘COME FROM AWAY’ at the Capitol Theatre

The hit Broadway musical, Come from Away, is coming to Yakima and you have a chance to score two free passes to the show.

If you haven't heard of Come from Away, it's a tale about a small Canadian town's reaction to the September 11th attacks.

Gander, Newfoundland, to be exact.

Some seven thousand passengers were stranded when planes we grounded during the September 11th terrorist attacks. This musical is a soaring tribute to finding the good in humanity in the midst of a world tragedy. You might even walk away from the performance with joyful tears in your eyes.

Some of the stories you will see unfold in Come from Away are based on real-life experiences from the people who lived it. Author Michael Rubinoff traveled to Gander to collect these experiences during a trip for the town's solemn remembrance ceremony for the 10th Anniversary of the attacks.

WHY IS 'COME FROM AWAY' SET IN GANDER, NEWFOUNDLAND?

During the September 11th attacks, some 38 international flights were diverted to Gander, a tiny town of around 3,800 people. 

The Gander townsfolk banded together to take feed, clothe, and take good care of the 7,000 people who were now stranded there, and that's what makes the story of Come from Away so special and heartwarming! I'm tearing up already just thinking about it!

This special musical will be at the Capitol Theatre on Saturday, October 19th, and Sunday, October 20th.
