Ba-De-Ya! Happy Earth Wind and Fire Day
Do you remember? Because we do!
It's a special day that happens only once a year where we're dancing in September as today (September 21st) we pay homage to one of my favorite bands of all time Earth, Wind, and Fire.
If you don't have any idea of what I'm talking about you might as well have your 'music card' revoked as it's the opening line of their classic 1978 hit song "September."
Do you remember? The 21st night of September....
Take a listen to refresh your memory!
This song has been played at birthday parties, family reunions, and it will definitely get everybody on the dance floor and tonight the band is inviting you to celebrate with them along with DJ Spinna and special guests playing all their hits and even some rarities.
Formed in my hometown of Chicago, Illinois in 1969 by Maurice White. He was a founding member of the Salty Peppers and had a hit record "La La La."
After visiting California on more than one occasion White moved out there shopping demo tapes and eventually signed to Warner Bros. and the group evolved into Earth, Wind, and Fire per their website.
In 2019 the Los Angeles City Council declared "Earth, Wind, and Fire" day where members Ralph Johnson, Philip Bailey, and Verdine White were in attendance per KABC.
"September" has been featured in movies, television, and covered by many artist including Kirk Franklin and appears on the album Interpretations: Celebrating the Music of Earth, Wind, and Fire.
So if you will excuse me let me get back to listening to this jam all day without no judgement!
Happy Earth, Wind, and Fire Day.....
RIP #MauriceWhite
