Am I the Only One In the Yakima Valley Who Cannot Keep a Good Vacuum?

I have the hardest time with vacuums. It seems that whenever I get one, it always breaks down. A couple of years ago, I bought a really expensive one. I kept up with it as far as maintenance goes. I kept it clean and well oiled. It didn't matter.

It lasted the longest of any of my vacuums, but it was still dead about 1 1/2 years later. Now, I just buy cheap ones and they seem to last as long as the really expensive ones. Drives me crazy.

To be honest, carpet was a really stupid idea anyway. Carpet is fabric. What do we do with fabric? We wash it. Most of us cannot afford to wash our carpet all of the time. I want hardwood floors, for crying out loud!

Am I the only one who experiences this?
