Is the Fresh Hop Ale Festival going to return in 2021 following last year's cancellation due to the coronavirus pandemic?

"As I see it, yes."

One of the "10 Best Beer Festivals in the Nation" is, tentatively, moving forward with putting on their annual event. It is scheduled, for now, to occur on Saturday, October 2nd in its new location at the old Track 29 location just off of Yakima Avenue in the heart of downtown.

According to a post on their official Facebook page, the board and organizers stated that they HOPE to raise a glass with you and your friends later this fall:

We are so hopeful that we can raise a glass together on October 2nd!

Are the clouds finally beginning to part? Can we finally anticipate some sense of normalcy after 10-plus months of abject weirdness and solitude? Let us all hope so!

The Fresh Hop Ale Festival has become an annual staple in the Yakima Valley that, once a year, celebrates the hop-growers and beer brewers in our awesome valley.

The event, which originated in 2003, was first designed to be a fundraiser for the Allied Arts Council. Since then, it has morphed into a non-profit organization that donates most of its proceeds to arts and sciences programs right here in Central Washington.

More than 60 breweries and an estimated 7,000 attendees are typically expected to show up.

Save the date (Saturday, October 2nd), and cross your fingers that the Fresh Hop Ale Fest can return to its former glory in 2021! Cheers!
