According to the National Endowment for Financial Education, about 70 percent of people who have won large lottery jackpots or fall into the possession of large sums of money all at once, wind up going broke and as much as one-third of them file for bankruptcy.
The Mega Millions drawing for $850 million will take place Tuesday, January 19th, 2021 at 11 pm ET, and the drawing for Powerball's $730 million will take place on Wednesday, January 20th 2021
The lotteries are getting up there again. I know, I know -- the odds are pretty slim for someone winning the lotto.
