Wapato Tragedy: 31-Year-Old Man Struck and Killed Sunday morning on Highway 97.

The press release says the teen had just left a nearby residence on foot and was "lying in the roadway when the reporting party located the juvenile.

The man was found injured in the 20000 block of Ahtanum Road last Friday, September 29.

A woman struck by a vehicle Wednesday in Yakima. Now police are looking for the driver.

23-year-old Theolinda George was walking in a crosswalk in the intersection when she was struck by a vehicle driving northbound.

Officers were called to the scene in the 2000 block of Englewood Avenue at about 12:37 pm Friday.

Prosecutors say on the morning of June 12 Vargas, driving a GMC Denali pickup struck Baker as she was riding along the side of the road.

Baker was killed while riding her bike with a group of other riders in the 11000 block of Summitview Road.

Prosecutor Joe Brusic says he's met with Detectives from the Yakima County Sheriff's Office about the ongoing investigation.

A witness did follow the suspect vehicle and was able to get a license plate but wasn't able to identify the driver.
