2008 was a grim day for Seattle and all of the Pacific Northwest.

It was the year we lost our beloved Seattle SuperSonics to Oklahoma.

However, there have been rumors and teases of Seattle getting another basketball team, but when will that happen, if it'll even happen?

Seattle is Top Odds

The people at Flash Picks, a sporting website for betting picks, predictions, and insight, looked into where the next city to have a basketball team is and Seattle came up as the odds-on favorite.

Here are the results from Flash Picks:

  • Seattle
  • Las Vegas
  • Mexico City
  • Nashville
  • Pittsburgh
  • Kansas City
  • San Diego
  • Montreal
  • Tampa
  • Austin
  • What's more, Seattle is the only one that would have a new team relocating to Seattle rather than an expansion.

Team most likely to relocate to Seattle

Flash Picks say if any team was going to be the ones to move to Seattle, all signs point to the New Orleans Pelicans.

This is figured due to their lease expiring in 2029, along with poor attendance and market performance.

If they moved to Seattle with a nice rebrand, trade in the blue and gold colors for green and yellow and, hello! New SuperSonics!

That is, of course, if they'd bring the SuperSonics name back as well.

With the amount of history and easy merch that name brings, I'd think they'd just bring back the name. I could see them updating the logo somehow. Probably a basketball where the black lines make the shape of the Space Needle or something, but here's hoping this happens.

Again, this is all prediction, no factual news, but you never know what the future will hold.
